Jon Arterton and James Mack

legally married and the sky didn't fall
   James Mack

James was born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised Southern Baptist . . . but it didn't stick. Well, for awhile it did . . . in a BIG way! In high school, he was not only the "class sissy", but also President of the Bible Club. That's right, the Bible Club! He went to a Southern Baptist University to become a preacher. But, being "musical", decided to become a choir director, instead. For a time he was the choir director of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Love, Mississippi. Then, on Sunday evenings, once services were over, he'd head straight for the gay bar back in Memphis . . .

Well, it wasn't long before James left the Baptist Church, moved to New York City, and began a fabulous career in men's fashion. There he was employed by Paul Stuart and Ermenegildo Zegna.

Then, in 1997, he moved to Provincetown, Massachusetts. One day he wandered into the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, and soon found himself doing something he never thought he'd find himself doing again--singing . . . in church . . .beside his
future husband, no less! Oh, talk about things coming full circle-James is now a chaplain at the Meeting House, where he performs weddings and commitment ceremonies.
